I save TV shows as MPGs and I want to cut out the commercials. The video
editor that comes with Windows XP would be perfect, except for one thing: it
converts edited MPEG files to WMV format before saving them.
I found a great program, but it is fairly expensive ($50.00) and is probably
worth it because it is packed with features, but I don't need all those
features nor do I want to pay for them.
I want something simple, relatively easy to use and cheap, I don't care if
it's slow or lacks features. I welcome suggestions...

Go to dealdatabase.com/forums and get tytools. I have processed mpegs with
it, but you have to change the extension to .ty instead of .mpg.
