AMD Phenom II X4 940(HDZ940XCJ4DGI)is compatible with the Asus M3N78-EM Motherboard.

Issue is that I just bought AQ 940 but it is a HDZ940XCCGI) The last few digits do not match.

I did a lot of research and was sure of my expensive purchase. But now I am not. QUESTION IS: Is my new processor compatible with my 1 year old Motherboard.

Digits shouldn't matter much. If you look @ Newegg, you'll see that it's also a different model number. Since it's an AM2+ processor and you're using a AM2/AM2+ motherboard, it should support it.

Thank you. I got it from Newegg. This is my 1st post ever, here and the issue is resolved.
