Trapped maid

Anyone in Sims2 ever have a trapped maid? I suddenly noticed my Lucy
maid not leaving after work one night, sitting in the living room
watching TV. Fine, I thought, she's staying for dinner, no problem.
Next thing I notice, it's the next morning and she's in the bathroom,
asleep on the floor, with green smouldering 'pits. I use the mind
control mirror to awaken her and make her take a shower, but she still
wandering in circles in the bathroom, seemingly unable to get out.
She's crying and hungry. So I again use the magic mirror to simply make
her walk out into the hallway, which she does, no problem. Then, on her
own, she walks out the door and exits the lot. *Then* her van shows up,
apparently driven by some phantom driver, and she reappears, gets in and
drives away. It then occurs to me her van must have somehow driven
itself away earlier in the day and that's why she couldn't leave.

Weird...

Also have found a definite bug, though I'm not sure to blame Univ or the
fact that I downloaded dma Sims' hooker set, which includes a hack for
the wall speakers that makes them never stop playing, but now when Sims
turn on the stereo and there are also wall speakers in the house, the
wall speakers keep playing music even after the stereo is turned off
(even though they are *NOT* the dma hooker speakers).

I had Remington stuck on a lot once. He stayed around until i got real
sick of his whining, put a box around him, and let him die. (I know,
that's evil. But he was on the lot like 3 days, stinking and
whimpering).

Move objects on cheat to delete her. I did that with a nanny once that
seemed to never leave.

I've never used the wall speakers in a residential lot. But it sounds like
part of your hacked set to me.

NPCs can die?!? In the old Sims, they just magically teleported away.

And since you did it to Remington, no, it's decidedly NOT evil. It's
commendable! Well done!

The wall speakers are part of the regular game. I use them on the walls
facing an outside deck.

Remington got trapped once, and he stood in the living room until he passed
away. It was right after I bought University. I've had some others get
stuck, but I "movedobjects" and moved them outside.

I had the same problem today for the first time. I think it may have been a
problem with dma sims maids. I deleted the files now everything seems to be
OK.

When I first installed University, the same Maid was trapped in one of my
houses cuz she was then when I saved the previous day... she cried a lot,
yelled at me a lot like I was blocking her path or something, yet everyone
else could leave the house just fine. Eventually she developed severe B.O.,
passed out in my bathroom too... weird. After about a week or so, she died
of starvation. She did keep opening the fridge, but she just closed it
immediately after. I guess the door magnet was just too powerful for her, or
kryptonite was in the fridge, I dunno.

If you put leftover Dominos pizza in the fridge, they decide they'd
rather starve.

But seriously, I CANNOT kill my NPCs!! Read my 2nd posting in the "Why
Sims make lousy parents" thread for that story.

Yes, I know that the wall speakers are part of the game. I use them in
commercial lots. I wasn't aware that there was a way to turn them off,
which is why I never used them in houses. I'm just saying that if Cuth HAS
used them before with no problems, then his current problem is PROBABLY
caused by his hack. :)

Ity's just hard for me to think of ol' Remington as a heterosexual, with
those little purple gloves that match his shirt. LOL

I once used "move_objects on" to delete her van once. She went swimming,
watched tv, the family made her dinner, she even made friends with the
daughter. I finally had to dismiss her. The next day she showed up, right on
time (she even found wher I had parked her van!), as if nothing had
happened.

I had one of the maids trapped in my lots - he just kept wandering around
the house & the pool and eventually went in for a swim. As I was so fed up
with him I remover the ladder and he had a nice wee visit from the grim
reaper. Solved that problem!!!

I wanted to get rid of an NPC that way and couldn't. The Sim just
disappeared from the pool and reappeared on the ground in a blink.

Ah, the immortal NPC. You should sell her on E-bay :)
