New hard drive not recognized windows xp dimension 3000

I have a new hard drive WD5000AA installed but my Dell dimension 3000 is not recognize it. Can somebody help me?

Did you go into disk management, initialize, and format the drive? After you've done that, it will show up.

Great, after fallow all direction I could format my hard drive. Now my computer is working fine. Thank you very much Hawkeye22. 100++++
