Do I need to reinstall my Windows Vista after I change my Intel E8400 to an Intel Q9550? Is it worth to upgrade? I do not have enough budget for i7 or i5 right now.
No. Make sure to update your motherboard bios to the newest one available. Since you are going down in clockspeed do you run any programs that can take advantage of four cores? If not the Q9550 would actually perform slower unless you overclock it.

I am trying to play GTA IV, Resident Evil 5, Crysis, and NFS Shift. Will it be slower than E8400? Also, which one better on these games after overclocked?
Thank you very much!
it dose not nessarly run any faster than Quad's just that the Games only uses 2 threads. But it is nice to have a Quad when somthing like your Anti-Virus starts to run a scan or any other backround task.
A quad means you need to think less about killing background tasks and so long as you have a good enough mobo, you should be able to push it up to the speed of the E8400.
