Like Phenom there are Phenom and Phenom II.

There are Athlon x2 240/245,
how about Athlon II x2 ...?

I have a motherboard supports socket AM2+, not sure if Athlon x2 245 can work in that?

Hi,

Back to my question, is Athlon x2 245 AM3 or AM2+?
If x2 245 AM3, then it looks like I can put x2 245 on my motherboard.

This is the specifications:

CPU -
AMD Phenom™ processor (Socket AM2+)
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core/ Athlon™ 64 / Sempron processor
High-performance Hyper Transport CPU interface.
Support transfer rate of 2000/1600/1200 mega-transfers per second
Note: This board supports CPU up to 95W TDP only; you can refer to AMD website to check your CPU.

all Athlon II x2/4 are AM3, browsing around and looking returns that it can work but you will suffer some performance issues but it will work.
the mb's TDP limits you to x2 cpus, check the vendor's site for bios upgrade cause I think you will need it.
