Windows 7 64bit not showing right amount of RAM

Can anyone halp me? I am runing a windows 7 64bit and have 8 gig of memory installed but windows will only show 4 gig.

Giving your system spec's, motherboard & ram, would greatly help.
Since you didn't, I'm going to assume you're using 4 sticks of ram.

Did you make sure that both sets are fully seated?
Have tried using one pair first and then the other pair to make sure they're both working?
Have you tried using each set of slots?

I built my system from the ground up. Yes I did try each stick and they are all good and seated fully into there slots.
the specs on my system:
Motherboard - Tyan S2696 Tempest i5000XT
RAM - (8Gig in 6 Sticks 4, 1Gig and 2, 2Gig) DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Fully Buffered • ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 72
processor - 2, Intel Quad-Core Xeon E5405 / 2 GHz

I have the same mobo and am considering upgrading to windows 7 and am curious if your system is up and running.

Hello, Yes my system is up and running. it is rock solid and i love it. only i still have not been able to get more then 4 gig of ram to show up. other than that it is great.
