To me, the Nine Hundred is a very nice case. Performes well and also looks good too. My problem is, so many people have them and I kinda wanted mine to stand out a bit and not blend in with the crowd. I decided to paint the whole case, both inside and out, Metallic Red. I am a novice painter and this was my first "custom computer case painting" job, but it turned out pretty good in my opinion. Below, I have posted some before and after shots. Also took some shots of the new Ultra 120 Extreme heatsink I installed also. In addition to teh ehatsink and paint job, I figured this would be a good opportunity to upgrade a rest of the cooling a bit and re-wire it to get some better airflow throughout the case. Let me know what you think:
This is what I started out with...normal Antec Nine Hundred with no mods to the case
The back
Side
This is the inside after removing my HD4850. Functions perfectly, but looks sloppy...
This is a shot of the beginning prep work. TONS of sanding, priming, sanding, priming, sanding, painting, and so on, went into this case. Prep is so important to ensure a quality finish without any chipping, pealing, fading, cloudiness, etc.
The end result
Still not re-wired yet, but coming...
I tried taking a low-level light shot to show those really nice antec fans, especially the on right on the heatsink that works GREAT, but my camera is horrible, so bare with me.
Here's the inside have re-wiring, installed the heatsink, and installing the two addition Red Antec fans. On right on the heatsink and the second right directly in front of the video card.
Justed wanted to show this picture to compare the OEM heatsink from intel (which isn't horrible by the way), to the Thermalrite...big difference..
So, the case looks different...whether you like it or not, you can at least agree that it doesn't blend in anymore lol. I've also dramatically lowered the case temp, cpu temp, etc. and definitely cleared the way for a bit of O.C.ing. I do also want to ad some cathode lights in there and will prob post those when I do. Below I have listed my temps. I did dramatically lower them, but I don't know, I still expected a few more degree decrease, but I also dont have A/C in this room, so i'll take it
Idle:
Core 0 - 31 C
Core 1 - 31 C
Core 2 - 25 C
core 3 - 28-29 C
I haven't really put the cpu under any kind of load, but i did take a look at Speedfan when the CPU was at 20% and each core rised about 2-3 degrees.
So yea, this is my baby, lemme know how it looks. It's nothin too crazy, but again, i'm also a novice painter, so getting crazy with the paint wasn't an option...yet

Red that thing up to death and it'll be even sicker than it is now. I cant show my best friend or he'll find you and take it REd & black are his favorite colors.
It looks great.
I get really bored of the whole black-case-blue-LED look that seem to be with a LOT of gaming cases, so this paint job is a nice change to see.
Red is also a favourite colour of mine so I love it of course More red LEDs would probably look better than the blue ones you have currently, but I'm guessing those are the Antec TriCools that came with your case.
All in all, great job. *thumbsup*
Edit: I bet your 4850 looks a lot better now that it matches the case haha

Yea they are the tri-coolers that came with the case. All red LEDs would look better, i agree. Wasn't sure what color cathode to put in there. Was thinkin all red led fans with blue cathode... those fans arent cheap though...14 bucks a fan lol
white cathode was actually my other and original choice...just don't know how it would look. but i'll post some pics once i do decide and get the cathodes installed
