ASUS G51 laptop is released with several CPUs . Above all are these tow models :
Core 2Dou T9600 with 2.8 Ghz clock and 6Mb cash
Core 2Quad Q9000 with 2.0 Ghz clock and 6Mb cash
Does any one know the deference in categories below :
engineering softwares such as Auto CAD , Catia , Matlab ...
3D softwares such as 3D Max , Maya , ...
Video and Audio editing
Gaming

OP which question do you want answered first?

Short answer ... get the quad core laptop since you want it to do some real work.

Buy two batteries and shove as much ram into the laptop as humanly possible, so it will run Win7 and the new CAD aplications that follow.

Get the extended warranty ...

Lower clock speed on the quad will suffer in games, but the 2 extra cores will excell in 3ds max and most other applications you've listed.
