Hi,

i've decided to purchase an Alienware Aurora from Dell's Irish website. I have a 2000 euro budget. I dont need a monitor or network card. What im trying to do is configure the best balance of cpu/ram/graphics for this amount of money. If anyone has the time to configure what they would consider optimal, i would be very grateful.

Yes to the first two but no to the third.

Wait two weeks and you will see why.

I would hate to see you pay twice what the card(s) is (are) worth.

Look at a 5 series or 2 4 series ATI cards instead ... the price on the latter will drop too.

Take a few deep breaths as the GPU market is going guts up.

The buyer being the winner of course.

Agreed with reyond. Try to get 5870 or 5850 card. Those are far better than GTX260. Also price would drop if you want to wait for some times. Then you can go for 2x4870 or 2x4890 in Xfire with a cheaper price.

Omg! Don't buy from dell please, they are way overpriced. Try this site www.pcspecialist.co.uk, don't worry they deliver to Ireland. I just bought one from there recently and they delivered it to me in Dublin no problem at all. It is way more customisable there and its cheaper too.

I bought a i7-920, antec 1200 case, 3gb RAM, ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, Creative X-fi Titanium, 800W PSU, NVIDIA GTX 285 1Gb, Coolit Domino ALC CPU cooling, 640Gb HDD, monitor, keyboard and webcam. Works like a charm.
