Bios won't recognise sata drive

Asrock motherboard with AMI bios only recognizes original sata disk - can't see an enable option in setup although setup clearly displays 4 sata slots commensurate with sockets on motherboard.
Any ideas?

I have an idea, but since you left out any details at all, it's only a wild stab in the dark.
Your board only supports SATA I, and you have an SATA II drive? If so, set the jumper on the drive to make it SATA I compatible.
