Am I better off with the Asus Maximus III Gene 1156 paired with an I5 750 or a GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 LGA 1156 pared with an I7-860. The cost is about the same.

i believe the Asus is better if u plan to overclock.

As time goes on, lot easier to swap CPU's than MoBos.

the gigabyte board is pretty decent with some good features.... but i doesn't have nvidia sli support... keep that in mind.... also the second pci e works at 4x...

so that takes a toll on cross fire....

somehow i lean towards the core i5 setup with asus board... seems a solid combo

the asus p55 pro/evo has bout everything the maximus has at a better price

Thanks obsidian86, but my case is an Antec Mini P180 and it only accepts Micro ATX MBs. It limits my options, but I really like the case.
