From many reviews i have read, it is right to say that the 4850 is WAY better than the 9800GT?

Most importantly, I saw the requirements for the the 4850, it says 450 watt minimum PSU, if i got the Corsair CMPSU-450VX 450W ATX 12V 33A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active Pfc 120MM Fan , which is exactly 450 watt, would it still be ok? or should i take it up a notch to 550 watt instead?

I wouldn't call it WAY better, but yeah it is a good margin better than the 9800GT... probably around 20% or so? Yes the Corsair should work, Tom's used a 4850 on a 380 watt once... If you have more than 1 dvd drive and more than one hard drive i'd probably get the 550 just to be safe and have some room for the PSU so it isn't working too hard, but that's up to you. But to answer your question, yes, it should be ok.

Don’t get the HD4850 it is very crappy(it is only for the poor people). I recommend the HD4890 for now and after two months you upgrade to the new DX11 cards.

i only have one HDD, and DVD Drive, so its okay to use the 450 watt one right?

Yup, should work flawlessly.

Btw, @troll 4850 is not crappy lol... Don't be fooled by its low price tag. Especially if you plan on DX11 in a couple months, it wouldn't be worth blowing $160+ to last until then.

The HD4850 is crappy because I said so. :pfff:

Think about that the HD4850 have the same performance with a graphic card that was around 4 years ago (8800GTX November 2006)!!!

Not too bad considering the 8800GTX was like $500+, less than *3* years ago.

Let see what you have now (year 2009):
E6600 @ 3.6 // 2 X HD4850 // OCZ 4Gigz

Let see now a very good system from the year 2006: :sol:
Core 2 Extreme X6800 @ 4.0 // 2 X 8800GTX // 4GB ram

Both systems have about the same performance

So you say that your 2 X HD4850 are amazing? :pfff:

Your system looks like 4 years old. :D

Now you need to throw this crap in the garbage and buy a new system. ;)

I recommend you to buy something like that:
I7 920 D0 @ 4GHz // 3x GTX285OC // 6GB ram //…
What do you think? :)

Why throw money away on 285s and overkill any game? Some of us know how to budget for prime performance for little dollar. :) 4850 xfire plays any game perfect (unless your on a 30" screen). Not to mention i7 is a waste of money too if you're only gaming.
Unless it's for bragging rights. Even though I find it silly to brag about throwing money away.
What do you think?

I think your advice is biased, misguided and most of all plain bad. 4850s are NOT high end cards, however they certainly are not crap. They are an extremely good buy if your'e in the market for a $100 card and two of them for 200 will really put the hurt to any single card in the $200 range. Do your homework before you give advice.

I think everyone who had the HD4850 should be locked away in a cave until they realise how bad the HD4850 is and swear to never buy again a graphic card that cost less that 500$.

Remember guys the HD4850 is only for the POOR people.
