3gb kit on dual channel board

I have a 3gb ddr3 1600mhz kit which a friend gave to me . however i want to purchase either any one of the boards
1.gigabyte ga 790 fx ud5p ( amd confg)
2.msi p55 gd 80
can i use two 1gb ddr3 sticks from the kit and use it in dual channel mode on anyone of these boards????
please reply!!!! URGENT!!!!!

Yes. Or buy a 4th and have all slots filled. You may be able to find a single 1600 somewhere. Don't mix different speeds; that will slow the other ram down.
