K so i just booted up my new system installed windows xp pro, and in which it asked me to partition my 640g hard drive. Now i misunderstood this. I partitioned 60gigs thinking it would label 60g as C: and leave the rest to be D:
Obviously not because i am looking at "my computer" and it says C: has 60g and thats it. So i am wondering how do i make it so that 60g is C: and the rest is D: ?

the rest is nothing because you havent created a partition to occupy the available space .

if you havent gone too far then the best thing s to start again , by partitioning again and then reinstalling
Theres no speed advantage in an OS partiton btw , but it can make back ups easier I guess . I never bother
