Hello
Having just bought the wrong memory for my new upgrade (it was G-Skill 4GB (2x2) for an intel)
Could anyone give me some advice.
I have an :-

Motherboard - MSI NF980-G65 Nforce 980a Socket AM3 DDR3 DVI VGA HDMI Out ATX

Processor - AMD CPU AM3 Phenom II X4 955 quad core 3.2GHz x4 Black Edition

I have about £100 for 4GB of DDR3 2x2 possibly 1600MHz would be nice but i'm open to advice.

This machine will mainly play games so that will be the goal.

Thank you

Alan

List your memory specs. Memory is memory; it's not specific to the cpu, but the motherboard. The gskill may work fine.

G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 Ripjaw Memory Kit CL7(7-8-7-24) 1.65V

if you mean the spec from the mobo it's

The gskill should work fine in your am3 board. The Intel reference means nothing; it's a marketing ploy to get Intel users to think the memory is made especially for their boards. It's not; it works with most ddr3 boards.
