Hi,

i have already ocz 1600 pc3-12800 (1.7v)8-8-8...6GB...now i want to increase memory so i'm looking for g.skill sniper series bt with different volt..

that it makes any problem???


My Spec. Is..

I7-960 (3.2GHz)
Gigabyte X58a-UD3R
OCZ Gold Series 6GB Tri Channel 1600 PC3-12800 (1.7V)8-8-8...

You shouldn't run more than 1.65 on an i7 rig, what is the new ram rated at?

one thing i noticed today....on my ocz ram volt is written 1.7 bt when i use cpuz software it shows 1.5 volt..

wht is this???

can anybody tell me the exact volt of my ram...plz

It's probably specified by OCZ as 1.7 ram. You probably have it on auto in bios, so it will go automatically to the ddr3 standard of 1.5. You'll have to set the ram voltage manually. Just make sure to not go over 1.65 and not to dramatically over volt the new ram.

Just put the volts to 1.6 and leave it....there is no way that 1.7v is gonna work on DDR3 unless...your brave,lucky, and have money to burn...set the DRAM voltage in BIOS.....NEVER EXCEED 1.65V ON DDR3...you will be sorry if you put the volts to 1.7...I can assure you of that
