Overclocking affects only a certain bus on memory

I've been meaning to overclock my CPU to get better performance, but I understand that increasing the FSB also increases timing for the RAM (and maybe the GPU?)

My motherboard has 4 RAM slots but was designed to have only 2 slots (dual channel) be affected by overclocking, so I'm wondering if the other 2 sticks will not be affected by the FSB and therefore cause errors when overclocking because of the different speeds, could someone confirm my suspicions?

More about overclocking affects memory
  1. Not timings.....clockspeed....all RAM installed will be effected by an increase to the FSB....it has 2 channel of dual channel hence...4 memory banks
