I just recieved all the parts for my first liquid cooling build. Before I started putting it together and testing for leaks, I wanted to ask a quick question. From past experience, I know that you use plumbers tape to ensure that threads on water hoses don't leak. Is this something that is necessary for the threads of fittings on a liquid cooling system?

Most all the new fittings have rubber O-ring seals, if for any reason you're forced to use plumbers tape, do not allow it past the threads it will come loose inside the system and restrict your water block.

If rubber O-rings are an option and I don't have them, I'll probably just run to a hardware store and grab those then. Much rather use O-rings than tape.

4ryan6 is correct...o-rings are the standard. You really don't want to use teflon tape if you don't have to...
