http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813151179 takes 32 sticks of ddr2 biggest ddr2 stick is 4gb so 32x4gb=128gb or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813182176 144gb ddr3, biggest ddr3 stick you get is 8gb

Unless he means desktop which would mean a Intel Core i7 tri channel DDR3 based mobo which can support up to 24GB:

Thats 6x4GB.

A non tri channel mobo would be 4x4GB or 16GB (for Core i5, Core 2 Quad and Phenom II).
