I have a new MSI MB with AMD AM# cpu which wont boot. Apparently, the MB BIOS must be updated before the MB will work with a socket AM3 cpu, but I cant update the BIOS when I cant boot !! Don't have an older cpu to use temporarily...!!! Any ideas ????

well all you can do is find a compatible cpu to updated the bios or you'll have to get a motherboard that will work with the cpu you have.

can you tell us what MSI motherboard and AMD AM3 cpu you have. Till will helps us out alot.

cpu -- amd Phenom II X2 Socket - AM3 3 Ghz, Dual Core

Well from what i just found if these 2 info's are right, then the cpu you have is not compatible with this MB.

Here is the list of Phenom II Cpu's that are supported

I also got the similar problem but not exactly.

Just strange as your motherboard "K9N6PGM2-V " supports Phenom II x3 and x4 (they are AM3) but does not support Phenom II x2 this is also AM3.
