$700 Gaming Build

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Anywhere from now to a few months. (Now-December)

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Mainly gaming, and some music and internet browsing.

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Monitor, keyboard/mouse, speakers.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg

PARTS PREFERENCES: I'd like to use a Phenom II X3 720 CPU, and a Radeon 4870 because AMD CPU's at this range are definitely cheaper and cheap, but good quality, is what I'm aiming for. Dragon Build comes to mind.

OVERCLOCKING: I'd like to overclock the CPU to 3.0Ghz+, but have poor knowledge on the subject as of now.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1440x900, 1680x1050?

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I'd like this rig to be future proof for a good two or three years, maybe with a few upgrades here and there. And the lower under $700, the better


EDIT: I might consider using an Intel CPU if there is a significant performance boost over the AMD Phenom II X3 720
EDIT#2: Or do you reccommend I wait for the i5 CPU/cheaper i7 CPU's?
