IE8 hangs for one minute after reboot.

hi,
i performed a fresh installed of xp pro 32 on a crucial M4 ssd. Machine is great except that for about the first minute after startup if i launch IE8 it hangs for about a minute (says connecting) the works great. If i wait a minute after boot then launch IE its fine too. Firefox works flawlessly with no issues. Any ideas? no add ons or plug ins running.

solved. I neglected to align the drive (need to on xp). I used gparted live cd to align the drive with a technique I found on lifehacker. Works perfect now.
