Hi,I will try to make long story short....

Tried to OC my CPU,got some stable speeds but then on when I raised Voltages to achieve higher clocks was crash after a crash following by message crashed due to not damage system on high temps....

Ok so I finally gave up on the OC and wanted to chill out, went into bios returned back everything to default,I even reset the timings on my 8gb corsair ram from 7-7-7-20 @ 1333 to 9-9-9-24 at 1333 which is default/stock....

Restarted my PC and open AMD overdrive and CPUIDHW to see temps, somehow I dont think temps were right after the OC,I had like 6-7 failed OC on both prime95 and AMD Overdrive with same results....

These are the current temps while having H50 dual loop push/pull
all 6 cores are at 27C while CPU temp shows 40C,this on idle???? my 965 was running much lower in temps, the CPU temps on the 965 were at cores @ 16C and CPU @28C....

I already ordered new thermal paste regarding this matter.

What really concerns me is how my PC works after the OC.
-boots fine
-dont show me any error messages
-game BIA Hells highway was running on all high at 120
FPS now barelly can reach 25 FPS

But the most thing that bothers me of all of this is that AMD overdrive benchmarking I get between 5800-6200 score????

While others get 10.000 at 4.0ghz or good 7500or more at stock speeds like mein, thats still much higher than mein on stock speeds....

I deleted GPU drivers thinking maeby they got corrupted and installed brand new ones, and offcourse i cleaned all with driver sweeper....

I'm clueless, maeby anyone can help,if any one has 1090T can you bench the CPU and 3.2GHZ and post the results,

or if anybody has an idea what might be wrong here,i doubt I fried anything due to the fact that the stress tests lasted no longer than 10min and the PC starts up normally without any error message

AMD Over Drive is a horrible program that I advise you to uninstall...those benchmarks are single threaded, in other words the results mean nothing....The paste that comes on the H50 is Shih-utsu its like one of the best on the market....Your temps should be monitored through coretemp v0.98...or speedfan 4.42 or later...As far as the drop in fps's....How hot did your GPU get? Sounds like you may have messed up the GPU due to an overheat from the symptoms you described

BTW...those temps you posted look like they are erroneous....16c....Where do you live at? That is 61 degrees farenheit....your room must stay awful chilly...lol...It also looks like you have uneven pressure across the CPU with the cooler....make sure all of those screws are seated fully

This is an upgrade from my previous build that I had 965 and 5770 so i pgraded to 1090t and 2x6870's.

When I was with the quad temps on CPU was 28C,while now is 38C.....

Back then I used Gelid extreme since had better results than the ACSilver5.

Problem is this upgrade was after a year and 3 months and I used the same tube of whatever I had left from the thermal.Somehow this time the thermal didnt spread that easy, was more chunky and I have the feeling that it aged and lost its chemical state...

Yes when I fisst installed the paste on the h50 with the 965,core temps were at 16-18C and CPU temp was at 26-28C on idle,

Now core temps are at 26-28C while CPU temps are at 36-38C at idle....

Can this be because its hexa core CPU + 6870's x2 vs the quad CPU + 5770 single???

By the way I reinstalled the game BIA from steam and installed it again cause I remember before I start having the bad frame rates something happened before I started the game, some sort of error saying DX9 I think didnt installed correctly or something like that......idk why it needed to be installed again in first place since that wasnt the firt time I played the game.

Maeby lots of things got corrupted after the OC crashes....

Lowjack can 5-6 crashes damage anything on my PC,they lasted no more than 5-10 min and then crashed, some of them saying was during high temp and others didnt catch to read them on time.....

I will waith for the new thermal paste and then I will go for the steady OC that I should of stayed at first place:

3.6GHZ @1.3V stock no increasing in voltages
TC set to x20,so it will take 3 cores to 4.0ghz if needed
ram timings set to 7-7-7-20 @ 1333mhz

I suck at OC and Im totally new but this one worked without having to turn off turbo core,no volt raising.Once when I reapply the new thermal I will play a lil more with the OC,any tips for starters, maeby 1.4V on CPU with 3.8ghz? or will I need lil more voltage, and yes I will go lil by lil with the volts, and disable the TC if I go 3.8GHZ or more...

Any tips?

Instable OC's write errors during operation....so a failed OC can corrupt all sorts of data.....As far as hardware damage that just depends on the quality of the chip, how hot it got, how much voltage was being put to it, etc......I think that rise in temp is due to bad paste from what you said about just using what you had left over....1090T and 2x6870...vs...965 and 5770...core temps will not be effected by changing from either of those set-ups...as long as the vcore and clocks are the same values

hey lowjack buddy thanks for ur replies dude!!!

I found out whats the problem with the game, since people say disable CFX it will get better frame rate, but everytime i disable it it actually get worse frames with message BIAhh.exe not responding,I restart the PC start the game ,this time it runs but with weak FPS around 30ish.. so in order to fix this i have to reinstall the some drivers from the game ,I just flat out reinstalled the game and Am back to 100fps...

As for the CPU temps in my room are the same as they were back in the days when I had the quad.

But this time around when I was using the thermal paste wasnt the same, was sort of thicker than the last time and I had to redo 3 times in order to get it right, and still its not where it suppose to be like was with the quad core.Seems like iven though I closed the tube 1+ year a go when I first used it it didnt work,it lost its chemical state,so I' ordered another one.Its very good thermal paste and gets better results than the ACS5 without the metal particals in it,but obviosly i need fresh new one....

As for the OC,it crashed 5-6 times,it was a stress test with prime95 or AMD Overdrive, when I would of catch glimpse of the crash i read it said system shut down cause of high temps stopping from damage message....

it was only 5-6 crashes and they lasted 5-15min at the most per test.

I start up the PC on stock clocks, runs fine, and also I runned prime95 on stock speeds for 2 hrs no crashes but the temps raised under full load up to 53C => this looks high to me for stress test at 3.2ghz factory clocks dont you think with H50 dual fan loop cooling?

I'm pretty sure its the paste gone bad....

And I hope nothing was damaged cause everything runs fine on start up,no beeps no error messages,2hrs prime95 torture test @ 3.2ghz and no problems.... Seems everything is ok.....?????????

looks good except the temps at stock are about 8c too high....Your on the right track...it more than likely just corrupted a program or two, but didn't botch up your hardware.....Just get you that new paste apply it and reinstall the cooler all should be fine
