Override?

I tried to upgrade my old e machine with some of my other old computers parts. when i got all done hooking up the parts and plugged in the monitor all it said on the screen was 'override' and it ejected the disk slot.

Old old emachines had the nasty habit of bios locking to the factory fitted components before they shipped.
Your machine more that 8 years old?
If so then that might be it.
