let's share the spec of your computer. i just want to know what is the mainstream computing these day and wonder if my flagship has enough muscle. (built since early 2008) hop everyone can share these information.

time of boot: 23 sec with only 2 blue bar

page file difault usage: 96mb

page file usage: 121mb (with pc tools)

page file available: 7412mb

that is the power of my flagship. i know it is sucks nowaday but with xp x64 and 4gb ddr2 800 it is perfoming more faster than on vista. and the page file you see is been modded by turn off some of useless feature to make it faster...no web surfing and firefox are the true secret that how i able to keep it down below 120mb. which vista can't.

PS: even thought i dont like much about nvidia but amd were more worse back to the day. (3870...........) which forced me to purchase the card from the company i hate....but 9800gt wasn't that bad at all compre the worst card on the planet- radeon 3870

Very fast is all I can say... Comparable to a 15k RPM drive, not quite as fast but very close....

I just hope they can hold-up till I have enough cash for an SSD.... Raid 0 is kinda risky......

Super Pi 1M in low 11s pass, or high 10s pass if I raise my clock a tiny bit more.

Will be adding a new NB cooler (Xigmatech porter turned up yesterday) in the weekend, 533 makes a bit of heat on the P45.

You had better get that stopwatch out, because your bios takes atleast 10 secs, more if in ACHI mode.

I'm not using AHCI or RAID. At most it's 2-3 seconds. But you're probably correct as the video card sits for 1 second or so as well, and those seconds do add up. Basically the Windows 7 animation finishes, sits for 1 second, then GUI starts to appear (desktop fades, then start bar appears).

I'll time it properly when I get home. For single core stuff like loading windows, my machine is very snappy. I haven't had an OS load this quickly since Win3.1 on my Pentium setup. Will be interesting to see if RAID0 speeds it up, will be a couple of months before I get around to that though.

Edit: I realise switching to RAID will give me a nasty delay, but the speed increase after that delay is what interests me.

I use the same motherboard in a lot of my customers, ACHI and Raid really adds the time on. Raid 0 helps a lot once windows starts to load, but a Intel Gen 2 SSD would be the best, or even 2 in raid 0.

cooler master : Mystique case

Running Windows 7 RC1 probably until it gets close to expiration and then I'll pick up an actual copy of windows 7 since it pwns.
I think I've got plenty of bang for my buck here... total system cost around $350 ($190 video card !)

I don't really do enough to warrant a $1500 build, that will be worth $750 in 6 months. For gaming, I'm on a starcraft kick... and it doesn't take much to run a 10+ year old game !

Amdfangirl could probably play starcraft just fine w\ her 42 3dmarks !

------------------------------ Which Chip? Well, it depends on which set of thieving b@stardz you choose to support: The ones who use insider trading to enrich themselves while running their company into the ground, or the ones who illegally pay vendors to not support the first group.
