APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: As soon as I decide to take the plunge

BUDGET RANGE: Currently prices out at $1,723.90. Quite a bit more than I wanted to spend but I want top tier stuff. Was thinking more around a thousand but it adds up quick.

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, Adobe cs3/web design, media server/storage

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Currently have dell ultrasharp 24"(2408WFP) and antec p182 case. Have a really old keyboard and mouse but can't decide what mouse and keyboard to get. Like the gaming ones but really want wireless.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com. Open to others like tiger direct. Will probably get a D0 i7, not sure where to get it though.

PARTS PREFERENCES: i7, evga mb and video.

OVERCLOCKING: Absolutely, just as long as the fan isn't ridiculously loud.

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes, down the line. Want the fastest single gpu card right now(scared of micro stuttering). Might sli down the line, but probably never go to three cards. By the time two of these aren't enough I will just get the latest card and sell the old ones. Repeat as needed.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1200 on the Dell

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Not sure if I want the four wd blacks in raid 10 or two in raid 0 and two soinpoint f1's in raid 1.

I think I am spending too much on memory and motherboard. I want to oc the cpu as much as possible and don't want the memory to hold me back. For motherboard, I want to be able to run two or maybe three cards at full potential, and I want the raid support.

Need two dvd burners, not sure what to get there. I've always liked plextor, but whatever.

I know the power supply is a bit much, but it's not much more than the lesser units. I would like to get one that will last for my next build if need be. Would prefer modular. Also considering the PC Power & Cooling Silencer PPCS910 910W.

I would change a few things but what you have is fine.

HDD: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10010076&prodlist=celebros

Those hard drives are excellent in raid setups, yes they are smaller but they are actually faster than the Caviar Blacks.

Vid Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130479

I feel that the GTX 285 isn't worth the money when the 275 is right behind it. The 4870X2 might even be a much better value.

CPU/MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.213700

HSF: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/thhrplforso7.html

You can pick whatever 120mm fan for that heatsink, so get a nice Yate Loon or Noctuna fan. I buy them from http://www.frozencpu.com/

I'm assuming you plan on doing SLI in the future with that PSU.

My understanding was that the OCZ memory required higer voltage to clock higher? I was hoping to spare the CPU from that.

I bought the p182 a while back and it is still sitting in the box. I guess I could sell it but was hoping to make due with it. As long as everything fits I will be happy. I am concerned about the power supply and video card(s) fitting in there though.

It is rated at 1.65v, this is the highest you want to go with a core i7.
