A good Mobo for Under 80$ (Better would be 70)

So What is a good Mobo for the AMD Phenom II x4 940-965? I would prefer DDR2 since it still is a little cheaper and some OC caputbilities would be REALLY nice but not nessessary. Faster FSB would be great but i really not a big stickler (I know how low i want to go ;a)). I just want someone down there thats good reliable and cheap hehe...

Links would be a good help!

More about good mobo better
  1. Also can a AM3 socket run a AM2 or AM2+ CPU? Im a newb lol!
  2. ^ DDR3 is the way to go and they are also very much suitable for overclocking...And FSB for AMD? You dont have any FSB in AMD CPUs...you would have to deal with BCLK and multiplier for overclocking...

    Mobo -

And dont go with 940 and AM3 mobo...it wont be compatible...
    get any of these...
  3. Is the MoBo compatible with 32bit OS?
  4. FSB / Ram

AMD does utilize FSB, just not the same way as Intel CPU's. If you raise the bus you are actually raising the RAM and CPU frequency as well. Just like gkay suggested, don't buy anything AM2 or DDR2 unless you are willing to upgrade sooner than later....
  5. ^ Hmm...my bad...I had just meddled with BCLK and Multiplier and not much of an overclocker...So I would listen to OvrClkr on this...
and as for mobo compatability with OS, yes it will be compatible...but if you use 32bit OS, then it will recognize only a max ~3.5GB of RAM...
  6. Im going to go with the 955 or the 965... Which one should i go with (I'd have to wait for a while if I got the 965 since im really poor...)
  7. Is there any way to mess with the OS to get it to read more? (Yes i know about the ~3.5 restriction and the 16gig one if i only get Home 7...) But is there any way to rig it up or no? ;a)
  8. On a budget? I would go with the x4 620...

no need for the 955 or 965 =)

    AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor - Retail

The best 99.00$ you will ever spend. The 620 can easily be overclocked to 3.2Ghz or higher with an aftermarket cooler.
