New to OC GPu/CPu

TOday i started my first OC experience on a saphire 5830 i bought recently from neweggs 110$ it was a steal id say So Stock is 800/1000 i managed to OC it 950/1300 stable 35C idle 50-60C load but since im new to this OC thing i would like to know if increasing the voltage will Damage my GPu or Voltage increase is not neccesarry, point is i wana know where Voltages come into GPU OC i know Voltages are a part of OC a cpu but what about a GPu can someone explain to me Ty

i am new to the thing to but i know nit to touch the voltages that can break your card very easily so i wouldn't touch it.

Voltages primarily work the same for your GPU.
Don't set them too high, or higher than they need to be.
Increase in voltage, more power is utilized by your GPU.
More voltage (power), the harder your GPU can work/harder you can push it.
Under full GPU load I'd say keep temps below 85C.
My card runs around 43C idle and 63C while playing a game like Crysis 2.

I'd recommend not going above 1.3v on your GPU.
I like to stay around 1.25-1.28v.
