Whats the difference?

So i'm wondering whats the difference between these sticks of ram other than the heat spreaders?

Corsair 8GB

Corsair 8GB with heat spreaders

Note the timing is the same on both.

The RAM without heat spreaders is likely older, as pretty much all RAM is sold with heat spreaders and has been for quite a while.

Agree with leapfromshadow , no heat sprider ussualy for default system ( not strong for heat) and ram have heatsprider good for overclock ( called ram extreme oc)
