Need Help With New Build

I just built a new computer and the first time i booted, it worked great for about 2 mins until it was installing the OS (Windows XP 64-bit). The screen got stuck on "loading windows" for about 30 mins so i restarted the system. After I restarted, the screen is blank with a blinking cursor and a single beep. All the lights and fans are working normally. When I turn it on, it just flashes the motherboard screen and turns black with a blinking cursor. Can someone please help pinpoint my problem?

System Build:
AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE
MSI 790FX-GD70
4GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3 DHX (2x2GB)
HEC 750w Zephyr PSU
Sapphire 4870 1GB
Zalman CNPS9700NT

I recommend getting Vista 64, as the XP-64 is quite possibly having serious driver issues.
