Hi,

I got one of these so I could use my dvd drive on a sata connection. I have 2 older hdd's I want to keep on the ide cable plus do to the new config of the tower i cannot have both hooked up either dvd or hdd. Thats whay i got the card hooked it it but the computer does not see it in bios. I put the dvd drive in cable select and then put the jumpers on the back of the card in three configs upper ones connected lower ones connected and nothing connected. Not a thing the dvd will spin up when the power is intially turned on.

Any Suggestions?

It's designed for operation with hard drives, and likely wont work with a DVD/CD drive.

(That's not an assumption, thats what I read after searching google)

SATA DVD drives are dead cheap, and SATA drives almost as cheap, and both will be faster. I'd just replace the old hardware rather than messing around with adaptors.
