I was planning to buy the Pentium Dual-Core E6500 because, well it's much better than my crummy Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8 ghz). I want to know if the motherboard is compatible with the processor. My motherboard series is in the 9xx. I heard that some processors (especially some Core 2's) work ONLY on the 3 series.

This is my PC. http://support.gateway.com/s/pc/R/ [...] 68nv.shtml

I have the HD4830 in my system with 3 GB of RAM.

I am not upgrading my motherboard. Only PC. I have already read Tomshardware CPU for the Buck Hierarchy chart, I choose to ignore it.

New board= overclock= saved money= bang for buck.

I rather not overclock and buy a new motherboard because my case is uATX, not only that, I do not want to spend money on new boards overclocking until I buy a new computer. I want the MAX benefits on my case and motherboard, not a new case and motherboard (even though I can get an ATX case for cheap price).

Nano atx or micro atx. As for micro atx there is even crossfire i7 boards that can do 16x crossfire with 12gb of ram support.
