Can a 1 Terabyte hard drive be installed with this motherboard. I have had trouble installing and thought that maybe the motherboard doesn't support it. Gigabyte GA-7N400 PRO 2 Ver 2.

Please email me at red_phoenix@comcast.net if any answer to this.

Well, read the manual for your SiS 3512 SATA controller, and it doesn't mention a size limit, but doesn't look real hopeful, either - largest drive shown being partitioned in the docs is 40 gig - a long ways from a terabyte! Best advice I can offer for now is to try the latest (December '04 - rev. FK) BIOS located here:

It should be OK if the new drive is a SATA drive.

I don't have any sata's in my system, what I have on my GA-7n400 pro2 are 3 IDEs of 57 , 115, 149 Gigs and a 1.5 terabyte external running with no problems :o

If you have a IDE 149Gig drive running ok on your system as it is above 132 Gig (which is a common limitation) you should then have no problem with a 1 Terabyte hard drive.
