The HD4870 is one tier higher on the chart at the end of the Best Graphics Card... monthly article. That means in general it should be a little better overall, but they are close enough that you may wish to check the benchmarks of the specific games that interest you.
Also, be aware that the HD4870 may require a more powerful PSU; I believe it is 500W vs. 450W.

No problem with the psu im getting a 620w
