PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg
PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD vs Intel? i'd perfer AMD with there new Phenom II out
OVERCLOCKING:
No
MONITOR RESOLUTION:1440x900
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Alright right now i will be reusing my case with my PCIx16 ATI 1950 GT video card and my 450W PS unknown type. and my HD which is oldschool, IDE, but for now i will make it work as i am on a budget.
I run all the tasks as listed above all at once, this 3k+ sempron has done it's job for too long, now it's time for a new dual, tri, or quad core. Please arrange the best system parts including a CPU, Motherboard, and Ram. For approximatley $200 Give or take 30 dollars. I would like it to be DDR3 if that at all possible, not sure price or CPU requirements, i've been out of computers for about 4 years so i've missed A LOT! lol P.S. Not going to overclock so i believe that AMD is the choice, please inform me for your reasoning on your picked out system parts if you would so i can educate myself once again. Thanks
If you are okay with DDR2, this is a Phenom II x4 920 and biostar 790gx mobo for $175 after mail in rebate:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.209473 Ram would cost another $40-$50 for 4gigs. You'd be trading ddr3 (which currently doesn't offer performance over DDR2) but does make it more difficult to upgrade later as DDR2 cost is rising. But you get a quad core instead of a tri or dual.
This combo might be your best bet for DDR3 but who knows if it will still be here in a month. You'll have to see what's available then.
MSI 770 mobo and AMD Phenom II x3 710
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.212218 DDR3 ram will run $75. Prices may come down too.
