Hello guys. My pc makes every game go way too fast, it's only sometimes, and it speeds up the game, example in CS, I move at like twice, or thrice the normal speed. It's the same when I play NBA 2k9, the whole game speeds up.

Pc specs:
CPU: amd dual core 5000+
Ram: 2gb ddr2 800 Mhz
GPU: Nvidia 9600 GT 512 MB ddr3
HDD: 160 gb
I have sufficient cooling in my pc-case.

I've seen this behavior on some older games. I think it is adjusting itself for your CPU while the CPU is still in its low-power state. When the CPU actually ramps up to play the game, the timing is wrong. Some things you can try:
1. Set the Affinity for the game to only run on one core.
2. Load some other apps before you load the game; anything that uses CPU cycles will do. That will bring the CPU to full speed before the game loads, and it will detect the speed correctly. Once the game has loaded, shut down the other apps.
3. As a last resort, disable Cool 'n' Quiet. That rather wastes power, but the CPU will be kept at full speed all the time, again allowing the game to properly detect the rate at which it should run.
