Replace hard drive on an optiplex gx-280

Hello,
I am trying to replace a Hrd Drive on an optiplex GX-280. I can see the drive in the bios but when I attempt to start the system it gives me the error "drive 1 not found." Please help.

did you perform a clean installation from this new drive? or how did you get to this new drive loading the operating system?

Is this the only hard drive in the computer now? and is the BIOS set to use this as the primary boot device?

What OS is on this drive?
