My CPU temperature goes high up to 62-63 °C (without OC) under full stress while playing high end games like NFS shift, left 4 dead, crysis etc..should i be worried??? is it really necessary that i should get a new cooling solution?

here is system info

AMD athlon 64 x2 4400+ 2.3 ghz
2gb ddr2 800mhz ram
msi geforce 9500gt 1gb ddr2 (OC edition)
400w psu
plz reply me soon.............

63C is a bit high yes. Just check your case airflow - if you have a side vent put a fan on it and that makes a big difference to airflow.

You got thermal paste on that CPU?

Double check the insides of the computer.

airflow seems fine...none of the wires r near CPU heat sink and i already have a fan on side vent....though my case's design could be the problem, my psu blocks around 30% of the CPU fan (i.e. PSU overlaps 30% in front of the CPU fan without touching it with a distance of 1 inch approx.) what do u think ???

Yes i got thermal paste on the cpu and everything else seems fine...what should i do?

Make sure that you have good airflow through the case. The amount coming in needs to equal the amount coming out. If all you really end up doing is circulating hot air, more fans wont help.

Check that the heatsink is clear of dust and lint. You might pull the heatsink off, clean the cpu, and reapply new thermal grease.

You could either remove the case and run it open bench or get a better one.

Here's mine running open bench:

Airflow improved tenfold. In my old case, the GPU didn't get enough air and loaded at 90C-ish, now it's down to 50C-ish...

My CPU temps also dropped by 20C.

wow thats really daring but I'm not willing to take this much risk.....I think i'll get a new cooler and a new case

It's not really a risk.

It's running a computer without a case.

Very simple really.

As long as you keep thing that might jam the fans away.

yes its true but i got other people coming in my room too when m not here........and guess what they r not very sound with open hardware + there are several other issues....idea seems tempting but sadly i can't practice it

Hey guys I finally managed to take down the temperature.....installed a new cooler-master 4000 rpm fan on heat sink and changed the case too.........now idle temp is 36c and under stress max 51c
