I installed two identical rams but only 1 memory works when running the notebook

im using an HCL laptop my mother board is HCL T12Rg-H and i installed two 1GB kingston rams but it only shows 1GB instead of 2GB both rams working indipendently and bot ram slots r working How can i upgrade my notebook .................?

Does that laptop officially support more than 1 GB of memory? If so, did you install modules that are compatible with it?

yes manual says up to2GB supported
and i installed same 667FSb 1GB kingston rams. could that happen by with bios or other software.

It can't be software if the BIOS only detects 1 GB of RAM. The manual says up to 2 GB supported, but does it also provide a list of compatible modules? Did you contact the laptop manufacturer to make sure that 2 GB really is supported?
