I have an acer 5920 (not G) and just bought a cheap headset for gaming chat (Soncm SM-750M.V). The problem is, the mic only registers when the laptop if booted with it plugged in. once i unplug it, it will switch to the built in mic and will no longer register the headset mic unless the laptop is rebooted with it plugged in. (this is a phono headset, btw) when i plug it in, realtek window comes up, but with no confirmation that it is a microphone, like it used to with my standard ear bud/mic, or the way it does when i plug in the headset with a headphone confirmation.

My question is: is there a way to set this mic as default, and how? is there any way to fix this problem so that the mic always registers when plugged in? :pfff:
