I want to add a OCZ SATA II Vertex 2 to my HP Pavillion 8000 which has PATA connector. Is there a sata to pata connector which can be add to the drive caddy?

What you will run into is that by running it on a PATA device, you'll lose TRIM support and will be hampered by a speed decrease (though still be faster than a PATA drive).
You would be better off going with a PCI card instead to run it off of. You'll need to verify your motherboard will boot from a PCI card but it is the better option.

Thanks for the suggestions; however, I should have mentioned this is a Pavillion dv8000 which is a notebook w/ 2.5" drives with a PATA connector. So neither suggestion will work in this case.
Any other ideas??
