I guess I should start off by saying I'm new here, as I'm sure my posts will indicate! Rather than making small talk, I'll get right down to it. I'm building myself a new computer, and most likely my friends will just build what I build, because they're a bunch of lazy... let's just say people. Anyways, price isn't TO big of an issue, and I can hold off on building this computer if new technology is coming out soon. So far I've come up with 3 builds.
I do know there's a nice calculator on my computer, but I'm just to lazy. I don't care to much about overclockability, so that doesn't need to be a huge worry. I'll only be gaming on a 24 inch HD monitor for a good while, before I get myself some 42+ inch beast. I didn't quite check to make sure everything is compatable with eachother, but I'm sure they are. If you can think of something I should change to make one set up better or something, please feel free to shout out. As I said, money isn't to big of an issue, but I'd like to keep it around the $1700 marker. $100-150 over wont kill me though, haha. Oh, and sorry if it looks horrible, I'm tired and need some sleep! Thanks for your help!
Wow... for Build #1, it wasn't suppose to be that CPU, haha! Let me fix it up, thanks for pointing that out. as for the PSU, I figure go big, or go home , haha.
^ The i7 950 is not worth the extra cash at all...
Instead change the CPU to i7 920 D0 Stepping...It easily overclocks to 4GHz with very good air cooling and in terms of performance, it is as good as the 950...

Instead of the GTX 295, I would suggest you get 2x GTX 275 in SLI...
Why -> Because it would cost less than a single GTX 295 and would easily outperform by a decent margin...
I know you said your not interrested in overclocking the but extra 300 bucks for the i7 950 vs the 920 is not worth it. I'm with gkay in recommending the 920, with a nice cooler.
I can also confirm your PSU is overkill too, can save yourself a few bucks. Another one to maybe add to the list of psu's to think about: Antec Signature 850 -> Best psu i've come across so far. Could also handle 2 gtx 295's.
Thanks for the replies, I do know this is late in saying thanks, but I had some stuff come up, and had no access to the internet, that was not fun, haha.
Are you still in need of help? If so, read the sticky on how to post for build help and start a new thread, it will help get you more value out of your builds.
