Hi - I am new to Tom's Hardware but I noticed when I Google a lot of questions they are directed here so I thought maybe I could ask here. I am trying to get everything from one computer to another (Basically every .doc and every picture it finds, etc.
I'm using the program that came on the HDD but I'm not 100% how to -un- backup the files onto another computer... I'm wondering if there is a simpler way, or something I am missing?
Thanks for the help! (The program saves it in a bunch of numeric folders just like iPod does when it compiles songs. So just ripping 'em won't work.)
Well if they are simple documents and pictures then you simply drag and drop them to where ever you want...
1... hook up the external hardrive.
2... after formatting the drive, drag and drop all the pictures and documents or movies/audio etc. to the ext. hdd.
3... plug the ext. hdd into the new computer and make the necessary folders for these files.
4... drag and drop them where you want them to be.....Done!
