Processors for my motherboard

Hiya.

I've been looking for a new gaming computer for a while, but i was sure i had a really good computer.

I just found out that the CPU i have (Intel celeron) is very bad for gaming, so i decided to buy a new CPU instead of a whole computer.

This is my motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-8S661FXM-775 MOTHERBOARD

Please don't tell me it'd be better to buy a new computer, i know that already


PS: Would the intel pentium 4 work for gaming with high performance on recent games like company of heroes and left 4 dead, and would i need to change anything i already have for it to work?

No, Pentium 4's will not play recent games very well at all. They're pretty old and werent even that good in their own day. Unfortunately, even though your mobo is Lga 775 it doesnt support anything higher than a Pentium 4. Sorry to burst your bubble but your should really think about getting a new motherboard.

Can't the old 775 motherboards get bios updates to get core 2 support?
