Highest C2D E6400 OC (Stock Cooler)?

Hi!, So I Am Going to be overclocking my C2D Whenever it arrives and Wanted to see what other OC People have gotton on it!

I Have 2 Choices of CPU's

Intel Pentium D 945 (3.40ghz 4MB Cache)

or

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (2.13ghz 2MB Cache)

I Plan to use the C2D as it is most likely better??

Anyway I Have for my CPU Cooler a Cooler Master X Dream 4 (It is basically a stock cooler but is claimed to be 10% better than the intel LGA775 Stock cooler)

So what is the Best overclock i could do on this? I Am running on air not Water cooling.

I Have gotton mixed results of 2.4ghz, 2.66/2.67ghz and even 2.8 and 3ghz.

E6400 is, by far the better choice for overclocking. Depending on the particular chip you have, a 50% overclock may be possible. A 30% overclock is likely.

My first Core2 system used a 2.4 GHz E6600. I got that up to 3.6 GHz. But a lot depends on both cooling and case choice.

Alright So Around 2.6 to 3ghz is possible on a stock cooler? Well its not stock, its a cooler master CPU Cooler (X Dream 4) and they claim its around 10% better than the intel stock cooler so yeah.

its only 10% better, so it still stock. get a Hyper 212+ and I'm sure it won;t break your bank. Its great for OC'ing and easy on the wallet.

E6400 is very superior. I had the E6300 (1.86ghz) and ran it at 3.43ghz on stock volts for a couple years until I sold it. That thing was a beast. To this day I have never seen such a high overclock on air. I nearly doubled it's stock speed.
