I have an old 939 motherboard w/a 200mhz bus.

I just bought a 4870 iceq turbo graphics card, which according to internet benchmarks, runs at 60ish tops during heavy stress. Mine is idling at 100+ then going to 110+ causing my computer to poweroff during gaming.

Could my oldschool crappy motherboard be bottlenecking my graphics card, causing it to overheat?

Although the top and sides are off, there might not be enough air flow to properly cool down your parts. The 18" fan might not be good enough to cool down your parts. I would do what invisik suggested and turn the manual fan speed up in CCC. Most people put theirs around 40~50% to balance the noise vs temperature, but if you really want it really cool some go up to 70%~100%. This might be too loud, but cooling a card is more important if you don't mind the noise.
