I want to upgrade my computer recently, I am not sure about my CPU and Motherboard and Memory can get best performance with each other, can any professional give some advices or point out the bottleneck?
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz Black Editon
Memory: CORSAIR 4GB DDR3 1333(TWIN3X4096-1333C9DHX)
Graphics Card: Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5
Hard Drive: West Data 1TB/7200/32/Serial(WD10EADS)
Use windows xp or 2k for fastest performance. windows xp 64 was extremely fast, but be sure to use microsoft's malicious software with it. It's free; it finds trojans and fixes them instantly without having to reboot. You can also use a 32 or 64 gb ssd when the price drops. 32 gb run around $70 after rebate; 64 mb around $100 for the kingston value series. I had no trouble making a drive to drive copy with one of these using maxblast 5.
I don't think that Nvidia's offerings will make AMD cut their prices, at least not right away. Nvidia's offerings seem like they are going to be very expensive, therefore AMD will sit idle with their prices.
