Hi all, I just want to ask for something..I see it's not normal..but i want ur opinion too..
I had a processor AMD Athlon x2 4200+ (oc to 2.7 GHZ) and a Motherboard Nvidia Geforce 8200 and 4 GB of rams and an Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT 512 MB DDR2 video card (Oc: mem clock to 500 mhz and core clock to 650 mhz)
so i've played GTA IV for example, it was giving me from 17 to 21 fps .. I thought it's a processor problem..so I've bought a new processor AMD Phenom II x4 940 (oc to 3.38 GHZ) i heard this processor too powerful as it could run GTA IV with 60 fps so I've shocked when i fould it's only turns to a 30 fps !!!!!
I thought maybe a game uncompatible with something..I've tested the Resident Evil 5 Benchmarck edition on my PC..I've found a lower framerate!!! from 22 fps to 31 fps!!! So is it a problem of a video card ?? Is this normal guyz??? and if it is..what can i do to get a decsent frame rate ??
GTAIV had performance issues and RE5 is pretty demanding. Get a new video card and it will help out alot. I have a similar system except I used an 8800Gt and play at 1680x1050 and almost all games i can play at max settings.

Don't feel to bad, for GTA IV you would have needed a CPU upgrade anyways. You won't get 60FPS, but no one does anyways. 8600GT is slow, you need a faster video card.

THX ALOT GUYZZZ FOR REPLYING ME So if it's a video card problem..could someone tell me a descent card that could gives me switable fps and could stay with me not less than a year from now to change it with a new one ??
oh, I forgot.. My resolution in tests are 1152 x 864 for GTA IV and 1280 x 1024 for Resident Evil 5 Benchmark Version.
My PSU model is SafePower (not so popular) : [px-350 : max 220 w]
You need a new video card for sure. In order to get one you will need a more powerful PSU. Your current PSU wont run a video card powerful nough to meet your needs.
I recommend a ATI 4870 or 4890. NOthing against Nvidia, just have had alot more issues with them then ATI.
