Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

That's a new one on me - sound is internal and not subject to firewall activity. Run your anti-virus to make sure you're up to date and protected and check all the sound settings in Control Panel>Sound and Audio to make sure it all works and the volume isn't muted.
